  • Vaccine Policy

Vaccinations are paramount to the health of our children and the entire community. Our providers share the strong belief, supported by scientific research, that vaccinations are safe, effective, and vital to raising healthy children.

We recommend immunizations to be given according to the schedule recommended by the CDC. This is what we have done for our own children. Though we do not recommend alternate vaccination schedules, we will work with parents to vaccinate in a manner that is more comfortable for them if needed. Specific details should be discussed regarding our procedure for alternate vaccine schedules prior to registration.

Please note that we require our families to start vaccinations by 6 months of age. Infants who are receiving a delayed vaccination schedule by parental request should complete the recommended childhood vaccinations due by 2 years of age.

We follow the CDC immunization schedule. Please click here to view our vaccination schedule.

If you are interested in an alternate vaccination schedule, please view the form that you will be required to sign at well child appointments acknowledging the risk associated with delaying vaccinations.

Useful links for credible vaccination information can be found in the Helpful Links section of our website.

  • Antibiotic Policy

We work hard to not overuse antibiotics.

We educate families on appropriate use of antibiotics and follow evidence-based guidelines for prescribing. We do not automatically treat ear pain or a green snotty nose with antibiotics.

We do not routinely prescribe antibiotics over the phone as we do not believe this is good medicine. We will prescribe an antibiotic when we believe it is an appropriate treatment after evaluation in our office.

  • Appointment Policy

We ask that you arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. We understand sometimes things happen beyond your control that may cause you to be late. However, we reserve the right to ask you to reschedule if you arrive late for your appointment.

Occasionally, despite our best efforts, we may run late. We value your time and assure you that we are doing everything possible to see your child in a timely manner.  We will keep you informed if a provider is running behind and give you the option to see another provider, if available.

Upcoming Appointments will be communicated to families via phone call/text message/e-mail dependent upon your family's preference. Please notify our office if you would like to decline reminders.

Broken appointments represent a cost to us, to you, and to other patients who could have been seen in the time set aside for you. We reserve the right to charge a fee for canceled or missed appointments. We request 24 hours notice for cancellation of appointments.

  • Financial Policy

Riverside Pediatrics will offer a Sliding Fee Discount Program to all who are unable to pay for their services. No patient will be denied access to services due to inability to pay; there is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income. Please ask one of our front desk staff for more information if you are interested in completing an application.
