Does Your Child Need A Behavioral Evaluation?

What We Do

At Riverside, we are committed to keeping your child physically and emotionally healthy. A child's emotional health is critical to their development. We screen older children for mental health concerns, and we are trained to diagnose and manage mild-moderate anxiety and depression in children and teenagers.

We partner with
MUSC Telemedicine to provide subspecialty services via Telemedicine. Child psychiatry is a subspecialty particularly well suited for telemedicine. If your child is in need of more advanced psychiatric services than can be managed by our physicians or nurse practitioners, we can refer you to MUSC Child Psychiatry with services available through our Telemedicine relationship.

Does Your Child Need A Behavioral Evaluation?

What We Do

In cooperation with community based mental health providers, we evaluate and treat children for behavior concerns and school problems including:

  •  Inattention and lack of focus
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

If you have concerns about your child's behavioral development, please call our office and ask to speak to our Behavioral Health Coordinator. We will discuss your concerns and gather information that will be used to determine how we can best help your child. If a Behavioral Evaluation with one of our providers is needed, we will schedule this visit for you and provide you with assessment tools that you can complete prior to the your visit.

We are your partners in mental health care

When your child is going through mental health difficulties, it is often one of the most challenging moments of parenthood. We are so grateful to have resources within our community for high quality counseling and psycho-educational testing.  Please do not wait to talk to your physician or nurse practitioner about your concerns. Our local counselors are fantastic, but their numbers are limited and their practices usually operate with wait lists. The sooner we are able to connect you, the better for your child.
